Biography
Steven was born in 1969 in Kent, UK. He grew up and went to school in the suburbs of south-east London. At University he studied Social Science Geography and went on to a successful career as an environmental consultant for architects and building designers.

After a period of independent travel through South-east Asia, Australasia and the Pacific, he returned to the UK looking for a change of direction. Whilst in New Zealand he had seen an exhibition of cast glass and this had planted the seed for a new career as a glass maker, designer and artist.

After studying glass casting at evening classes, his tutor suggested he look at full time degree courses. Accepted for the BA 3 Dimensional Design course at the University College for the Creative Arts, Farnham, Steven graduated in June 2007 with a First Class (Hons) degree.

Steven has been an assistant to several well known glass artists including Angela Thwaites and Sally Fawkes. He is currently Artist in Residence and part-time lecturer in design contexts and theory at the University for the Creative Arts at Farnham.
